About Ahumaro Mendoza

Enterprise & Solutions Architect | Software Engineer

Welcome to my personal website and technology hub. I am Ahumaro Mendoza, a Computer Systems Engineer practicing since 2000, with over two decades of experience designing, modernizing, and scaling mission-critical software systems and enterprise architectures.

Currently based in Mexico City, I serve as an Enterprise & Solutions Architect in the banking sector, leading high-impact architectural governance, distributed system design, and technology modernization. My professional journey also includes engineering leadership roles in multinational environments across the Oil & Gas industry (Schlumberger, Pemex) and Telecommunications (Iusacell).

Architectural Philosophy: Zero Shortcuts

I build software under a strict enterprise mindset:

  • Long-Term Viability: Architecture designed for enduring stability and low maintenance over 5 to 10 year horizons.
  • Strict Decoupling & Clean Architecture: Rigorous separation between Presentation, Domain, and Data layers with explicit domain modeling and dependency injection.
  • Honesty & Pragmatism: Avoiding fragile quick wins, hype-driven overengineering, or hidden technical debt.

Core Technical Ecosystem

  • Backend & Distributed Systems: Distributed microservices, Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP), Apache Kafka, REST APIs, Java, and Docker containerization.
  • Modern Web & Mobile: Flutter & Dart, Firebase, Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run), and modern static architectures with Astro.
  • Infrastructure & Self-Hosting: Containerized environments, reverse proxies, and WireGuard VPNs.

Beyond the Terminal

Outside the world of enterprise architecture, I enjoy creative and hands-on craftsmanship:

  • Culinary Arts & Fermentation: Amateur chef, avid sourdough bread baker (masa madre), and craft fermentation enthusiast.
  • Cinema Fanatic: A devoted cinema enthusiast who deeply values the theater experience, storytelling, and the works of Studio Ghibli.
  • Music Aficionado: Passionate about Jazz and its exploratory derivatives, as well as eclectic musical genres with groove and soul.
  • Photography & Hobbies: DSLR photo safaris, Japanese culture and traditions, swimming, and gaming classics (Metal Gear, The Legend of Zelda).
